At this point last year, I was like most of you; an ambitious, young student looking to find a home in such large community like Penn State.
I came to State College as a bright-eyed 18-year-old looking to get involved, make amazing friends, and find my passion in life. As I began to have many of my first college experiences, I quickly realized that I had not yet met a group of friends like the ones I had in high school – ones that I could depend on and call at any time for absolutely anything. Because of Penn State’s size, I felt incredibly overwhelmed and truly was such a small fish in the biggest pond.
Despite this feeling of discontent, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and attend the BFC mixer in the Spring of 2020 where I had the opportunity to speak to so many driven, passionate, and intelligent students. As I continued throughout the entire rush process, I began to find what I truly wanted out of my college experience, one that wasn’t solely dependent on my academic development, but one where I can continue to evolve into a person that I am proud of both professionally and personally.
I know the rush process can certainly be intimidating, but everyone within Alpha Kappa Psi is very excited to meet you and we can’t wait to show you how much this community has shaped our college experience. Our rush chairs have some amazing events planned where you will be able to see if this is a good fit for you.
By being in this fraternity, you are walking into an environment where you gain 100 new best friends and a network of a lifetime.
I hope you make the decision to rush Alpha Kappa Psi and see how it can shape the remainder of your college experience, like it did for all of us.
All the best,
Zeta Theta Inductee Class President | Spring 2020
