Do I have to be a business major to rush?
No! Although many of our brothers are business majors, we are one of the only business fraternities that are open to other majors. If you are curious, we can likely connect you with a brother with a similar major during rush week!
Do I have to be a freshman to rush?
No! We encourage interested freshmen, sophomores, and first semester juniors to rush.

What is the difference between business professional and business casual attire?
Business professional for men would be a suit and tie with dress shoes. For women, this would be a dress and blazer or dress pants, a dress shirt, and a blazer with dress flats or heels. Business casual for men would be dress pants, no tie, and optional blazer with dress shoes. For women, we suggest a knee-length or longer dress that also covers your shoulders. You could also wear dress pants with a dress shirt with flats or heels. For the casual events, please feel free to wear whatever you are comfortable in.

What is Rush Week?
Rush Week is commonly associated with greek life as a week of events to get to know potential members. While business fraternities are not a part of greek life (although we do use greek letters), all five of us use this rush process. The BFC Mixer is an opportunity to meet all of the business fraternities. The following week, there will be around 4 - 5 events for each business fraternity for interested students to get to know them and vice versa. While we can't speak to what the other business fraternities do, we personally are looking to find driven individuals who exemplify the traits of our fraternity. Some events are more "professional" but we do want to see you have fun and relax at some of our other events as well. We are really just trying to get to know you and for you to get to know us. Have fun, and don't be nervous!
Do you have any tips for rush week?
Have fun and be yourself! We want to get to know YOU and for you to really get to know us! It's important for you to evaluate us as well. It's important for the fit to be something that you feel passionately about, too, because if you receive a bid, the pledging process is very involved.

What is pledging?
Pledging takes up about the same amount of time as adding a 3-4 credit class to your schedule. However, this work is completely different from work you would be doing in the classroom. Everything that we teach and do all has a purpose. You feel more confident and prepared for success afterwards. On top of that, those whom you pledge with will quickly become your closest friends - ask any brother!

Do you have any tips for the interview?
Come prepared! This is most important. Bring 3 copies of your resume, get enough sleep, and dress appropriately for a professional interview. As far as the questions you will be asked, practice some basic behavioral questions - you should be able to find lots online! If selected to move forward with the interview process, we will send you more detailed tips and advice so you can feel more prepared!
When will I know if I got a bid?
We do have private rush events, meaning that you have to be selected to continue with the rush process. If you are not selected for that, unfortunately that is the end of the rush process and you will not be receiving a bid. If selected to continue, you will be asked to attend our private events and complete a professional interview. After the interview, you will know by the end of that week whether or not you received a bid.
Can I rush more than once?
Yes! We commonly find people rushing more than once. Please do not be discouraged if you do not get a bid your first time. We do give out bids to students who have rushed more than once.

Alpha Kappa Psi is not just here to land you a "job"; that's not our aim. We can help you figure out how to align your passion and your career and exactly what you'll need to pursue it. We are going to teach you things that you can't learn in your core classes. That also means we are going to challenge you in different ways than your core classes will. You will review your resume a hundred times. You will practice interviewing a hundred times. This doesn't just make you an expert at those two things, but rather makes you confident in your own ability that you can find your future, as well as help others find theirs."
